USA will against China and Australia in the Olympics

The U.S. will have a battle with China and will against Venezuela and Australia as well after being drawn Friday into what appears to be the easier men’s basketball group. USA will be in Group A and two other teams will be determined based on the result of three qualifying tournaments in July.

Spain, Argentina, Lithuania, host Brazil, Nigeria and the remaining July qualifier will be in Group B.

America, the No. 1-ranked country in the world, has won the last two Olympic gold medals. The world No. 2-4 are Spain, Lithuania and Argentina, respectively. Brazil is the ninth.

Australia, China and Venezuela are qualified by their winning in their regional zone championship, but they are still outside the top 10.

U.S coach Mike Krzyzewski said that they know they are not the only dominating teams, but they are already ready for the Olympics.

The Olympic competition will open on August 6 and the top four teams in each pool to head to the quarterfinals.
